Dave's history with the fire department started when he was in school and was a fire explorer. He had fun, graduated high school and went off to college to become a psychologist (?). After a year of school (parties and bad grades) he decided he wanted to come back home and become a firefighter. The city he was born and raised in had a volunteer fire department and he jumped right into it. He volunteered for about 3 or so years.  Fortunately, a fire academy got started in the city. He now had the opportunity to get officially certified as a firefighter and become a paid professional. As soon as the academy was over and he was certified, the city went from a volunteer department to a professionally paid department. This was the only department he applied for and he was hired instantly.

Dave is a great fireman with many qualifications which include:

Driver Engineer

Confined Space/Trench Rescue

Rescue Diver

Part of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Florida Task Force II
